Quick RoadTrip to Van!

I should really rename this blog "once in awhile" since I never talk about any "little thing".
Cannot wait for the weekend...Although this is my second short work week in a row..This past weekend we took off for a few days for a quick roadtrip to Van for Ranita's reception. The wedding was a few weeks ago in Ed.

It was a fast drive, barely felt the time go by ..Kunal wanted to drive...so I pretty much slept the whole way and chilled with Krish the rest of the time. I love the fact that suddenly I'm not the fastest talker in the family...the crown of speedy gonzales has been passed on....
Time flew on the road except when we reached Vancouver area, it felt like forever! Imagine this, we are on the highway, crawling to each exit..of course, we did reach the area at around rush hour time ..on a Friday..but COME ON!! Seriously, over 1 hour to get Richmond and then - finally when we are in the right district for the hotel, we totally missed the exit for the hotel and went over the river again!! hehehe...pure comedy...if it wasn't so frustrating! We had to turn around and come back again over the bridge. This little bridge trip was something we did over and over again that weekend..sometimes by accident.
But I am proud to say that I got everyone unlost...and when i was driving ...i didnt get lost. "thank you and come again"....hehehe.

Anyway, we got to the hotel and wow. I don't much care for gambling or casinos generally..Since its not fun for me but ....Was it ever nice. I felt like I was in a Vegas casino. River Rock resort - is the place to stay if you got $$ to spend. I felt very posh:)

Of course, the whole place was one big stereotype - majority of the service employees were of brown descent, majority of the gamblers were of oriental persuasion and majority of the guests actually staying at the hotel were Caucasian...(although Ardyce tells me anthropologically-speaking Indians are Caucasians as well..but let's not get technical)...tis too bad that we didn't really take any pictures of the hotel itself.

The reception itself was great. It's always fun meeting and chilling with Anj's van cousins and especially Fua and Fufa. There are always good times to be had with those two around.

The dance part was a highlight which goes without saying.
The cool factor was brought on by the groom's friend who is a DJ. He was all "everyone say ..."RAV!!" "RANITA".."
Kunal still walks around the house saying that..."rav...ranita...!" hehe..

Kunal took this pic....how cute are they!?

Next wedding coming up is Jasmine's ...and then Lynn's..and then two more in August (Jyoti and Desiree). I'm looking forward to all! ahhh....wedding season!
